1. Create A Shutterfly account
2. Under My Shutterfly and the heading My Projects select Photo Book
3. Select the size you want your book to be. (I did the 12x12 which is huge, but it allowed up to 5 pictures per page that were big enough to see all the details.)
4. The next page will let you see any specials they are running on photo books. You can select the style you want your book to be now or just select Get Started.
5. If you haven't already done so select the Style Tab so you can pick the overall theme you want to go with. I recommend doing general so you can have more options on the page style, but if you want a themed book that is great too. Save the Project.
6. Now that you know your theme you want to get your pictures. Here is the best way I have found to do this.
7. Create a folder for your scrapbook pictures on your computer.
8. Make a copy of all the pictures from your database that you want in your scrapbook.
9. Put them in the scrapbook folder you created in step 7.
10. Now upload these pictures into a Shutterfly Album. These are the pictures you are using for your photo book, so you could label the album photo book. (If you upload many pictures it takes a while, so do 10 pictures at a time. It is helpful to upload pictures in the order you want them to appear in your photo book.)
11. Once you have all your pictures in the Shutterfly Album go back to your photobook project . Now select the Pages tab and at the bottom of the page select get more pictures. (I get a few pictures at a time, so I am not overwhelmed. Hiding pictures you have used is also helpful. The pictures upload in the order they are in your album.)
12. On the left side of the page you will see 3 Tabs Layout, Background and Edges. I start with the Background, so I can pick what the page will look like.
13. Next , I select the Layout tab. Depending on how many pictures you want on the page select that number. (Your title page will only let you have 1 picture.)
14. Now drag and drop your pictures in.
15. Selecting the Edge tab will allow you to put a boarder on your pictures. (I love this feature.)
15. Make sure and Save your project often.
16. When you are ready to do your cover select the Cover tab and everything is the same as above.
17. Previewing is great and always make sure you save before you go get more pictures or anything you do is lost.
